1. Assess the impairment

It is of import to begin by assessing the extent of the damage to the sail. I will be repairing a portrait on canvas that has about a two-inch rip on the top right. This happened when a stand was accidentally knocked over and the corner went right through the canvas every bit it was leaning upwards against the wall. 3. Glue the patch

4. Let the patch dry

Residual the sail painted side downwardly. Identify a weight on the back of the patch to agree everything in place and exit the PVA to gear up for at least 24 hours.
